Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of PCU experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - PCU experience - Epic experience - Experience with patient ratios of 1:4 Description: Rotating weekdays and weekends. Rotating holidays. Traveler will be required to float to different units as needed. Estimated patient ratios are 1:4. Knowledge and experience required in blood product administration, craniotomy, CVA management, heparin protocols, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Experience with neglected intracranial bleeds and isolation precautions is essential. Proficient management of dysrhythmias and oxygen administration required. Experience in neuro stepdown and post TPA care is a must. Skills in pre/post neurosurgery, traumatic brain injury management, and peripheral line care are necessary. Candidates should be familiar with stroke units and neuro diagnoses, including EEG and craniotomy procedures. Interest in administering TNK and managing lumbar drains is welcome. Interdisciplinary support available includes physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Compliance with credentialing and fingerprinting processes is required. Must provide two professional references, one from a manager or director. RNs must have their valid nursing license in hand at the time of submission. Education must be from an accredited program.
